Azumarill
VGC Guide
Azumarill has just 50 base Attack, but Huge Power doubles the calculated stat to approximately 224 at Level 50. Water/Fairy typing grants Dragon immunity, and Belly Drum turns it into a devastating endgame cleaner when backed by redirection support.
Huge Power: The Attack Doubling Mechanic
Huge Power doubles Azumarill's calculated Attack stat — after EVs, IVs, and nature are applied. At Level 50 with Adamant nature and 252 Atk EVs, the raw Attack calculates to approximately 112. Huge Power then doubles this to approximately 224 Attack in-game, placing Azumarill among the highest physical attackers outside the restricted slot.
After Belly Drum maximizes Attack to +6, Aqua Jet's +1 priority means opponents cannot outspeed. With redirection support from Amoonguss or Clefairy covering incoming attacks, Azumarill's sweep becomes extremely difficult to stop.
Dragon Immunity
Fairy typing completely negates Dragon moves — Miraidon, Koraidon, Palkia, and Baxcalibur cannot hit Azumarill with Dragon STAB
Aqua Jet Priority
+1 priority Water STAB; after Belly Drum, outspeeds everything and OHKOs most targets before they can move
Grass 2× Weakness
Water is 2× weak to Grass; Fairy is neutral to Grass — combined is 2×. Rillaboom Grassy Glide and Flutter Mane Energy Ball are the primary threats

EV Spread Breakdown
Belly Drum halves HP, Sitrus Berry restores 25% — leaving Azumarill near 75% while maximizing Attack for sweep coverage.
Drops Belly Drum for Assault Vest or residual longevity; relies on 100 base HP for multi-turn presence.
Under Trick Room, minimized Speed becomes an asset — Azumarill moves last-to-first and sweeps without Belly Drum setup risk.
